Time Keeps Slipping Away

I had full intentions to blog last Friday, i.e. July 8th, but was horribly sidetracked and the Fill In person was doing something different that I didn't quite get into so I just said forget it. Here is a catch up in extreme non sequitur fashion:

*I have officially embarked upon a new decade. My fourth! I am not at all bitter or disgusted by it and didn't lament leaving my 30's. Is that weird? Just another day as far as I was concerned. Not to sound like a bitch but I feel great and look pretty dang good for 40 so I am just rolling with it, you know? I am in better shape and actually feel better than I did ten years ago therefore I seriously have no complaints.

*I was kidnapped (so to speak) by my favorite cousin Gina for my birthday and was not even told where I was going just what to pack. Come to find out, I was whisked away to the Grove Park Inn located in Asheville, NC. We had so much fun as I welcomed my new decade with a mountain view massage, followed by a pedicure and then lounging by the pool, sitting in the steam room, sauna, mineral bath and the like. This place was utopia and I truly needed it. They even give you a small bottle of lavender to spray on your pillows before you go to bed and who knew I would have an affinity for peppermint infused wash clothes packed in ice placed on my eyes? After this trip, I believe essential oils and myself have something going on :)

*As hard as it is for me to believe, school starts in a week and one day. My little guy is starting kindergarten. I am ok as of now but I am ready for an emotional attack on the first day, after all, this is my last time. Michael is not terribly thrilled to start 6th grade but I suppose the choice is not his. The summer flew by for him and he feels a little cheated. At least we all had fun taking advantage of our Nashville Shores passes this summer.
Well, I am sure I could continue to bore all of you with potential ramblings but I will choose to stop. The weekend is over already :(

1. I hold onto all hope that my life will turn out the way it was meant to.
2.
A person who can make me laugh and seems as if they truly want to be there is someone I would like to travel with because both of the qualities are extremely important to me.
3. That day,
will play over and over in my head and haunt me forever
.
4. I am having a difficult time grasping what all has transpired this year.
5. Trust
is something I will have again someday.
6. I lay motionless in the dark only because I am scared to death.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to
having a little time to myself and catching up an a couple of movies, tomorrow my plans include hanging out at the pool with my friends and Sunday, I want to buy some school clothes and see my boys!
