Friday Fill Ins

1. A cup of tea has never done it for me. I am not versed on twinings.

2. Hearing the laughter of children makes a place feel like home.

3. Everything has its beauty once you crack through the outer judgement shell.

4. Could anything beat the taste of strawberries?

5. Art makes me feel unrefined seeing as I just don't get it! No, I cannot feel the angst of the painter nor can see how they meshed this color with that texture or whatever!

6. LOL I just noticed I forgot brush my teeth! (give me a break, I am off today)

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to pizza/Wii bowling/Rockband with the family tomorrow my plans include possibly shopping at Providence with my friend and Sunday, I want to run if the weather will let me and watch my children perform in the early service at church.

This week has come and gone in a flash.
I would describe work this week as steadily busy and productive.
Home life would be described as accomplished because Marshall is consistently pooping in the toilet.(thank the Lord)
Social life would be described as sad due to one of my friends losing a dear family member on top of having to fight some personal demons. She is very dear to me and I hate to see her suffering so.
Michael has also had a glorious week. It started with his 3rd guitar lesson......The past 2 lessons have consisted of him learning 2 chords each visit. During his third lesson the instructor told him he was playing the four chords 'perfectly'.....In fact, he was picking up on everything so quickly that he decided to teach Michael 4 chords this last lesson.....I am so proud. Second, when the teacher was picking up homework from the children's desks she made a comment to the entire class that if everyone's work was as neat as his, they will all get an 'A'. I must say that Michael does have beautiful handwriting and everything in math must line up and be just so. I don't know where he gets his perfectionist attitude>>>?????
Well, I am off to enjoy my Friday off. I put in extra time this week so I can enjoy this day without taking any vacation time....SWEET!! Happy Friday and Happy weekend

To further carry the tradition of slacking.....this blog is only going contain a couple of pictures of the boys enjoying the beautiful Saturday weather. This weekend was absolutely wonderful....I was able to take advantage of the weather and run a couple of days. This jogging thing is rather addictive. Enjoy the pics.

HELLO FRIDAY!!

Everyone is finally well in the house. Mike and I must have dodged the bullet with the whole stomach virus thing. Hopefully I am not speaking too prematurely. Marshall had allergic pink eye or something like that which I had never heard of. It has since cleared up but his right ear is still full of fluid which means another surgery for my little guy. The tube fell out 10 months ago and the ear decided to pull it's old shenanigans! His ENT stated if we don't get the tube placed within the next few months, permanent hearing loss could occur....YIKES!

1. Johnny Weir is a great skater but is very pale!

2. My little patriotic Michael has watched the 2010 Olympics every time the chance has arose.

3. And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. ~Anais Nin

4. Send a text to say hello if you get an urge.

5. Having sweet dreams is something I definitely missed out on last night.

6. What does it take to get some peace and quiet around here!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to an outdoor campfire with weenies and marshmallows, tomorrow my plans include spending the day with my mom and meeting some girlfriends to plan our Atlanta Girl's trip, whhooo hooo and Sunday, I want to watch Michael acolyte at church and then home to chill!

Up To My Elbows In Vomit With A Happy Ending

Friday started off promising because I only had 3 patients and figured I could knock them off fairly quick. Then I was going to rush home, pack myself and the kids and then off to Embassy Suites for a little R&R and swimming for the boys. The cloud of doom slowly started to encroach over me when I pulled into the driveway. Mike had Marshall's car seat sitting in the drive and he had a box of wipies in his hand. 'What's up' I asked a little fearful.....He responded, 'Marshall just threw up in the truck". Now big deal, I figured. Something just didn't sit right on his stomach and now it was out of his little body, onward we shall press.
I walked in the house, Marshall ran over to me, said he didn't feel good and then started to cry. That is just GREAT I selfishly thought in my head. Marshall then proceeded to throw up all over me. It was in my hair, on one side of my face and neck....and let me tell you....the feeling of vomit running down your chest and stomach on the inside of one's shirt is an experience I could do without ever again.
Because I am a bad mother, I was hell bent to take this little trip. I cleaned up, changed clothes, packed us all, grabbed the little garbage can out of the laundry room, put a liner in it and stuffed everyone in the car. We were off! The good news is, Marshall only threw up once in the truck and one more time at the hotel. He said he felt better so I took a chance and we all went to the pool. They swam for 2 hours without even a hiccup. He was magically healed. No more vomiting and he devoured spaghetti and meatballs for supper. Weird, huh!
The next morning we got up and ate breakfast. The kids were able to swim for another couple of hours while I ran on the treadmill (don't worry, Mike was watching them). We packed up and headed to Chuck E Cheese for lunch. Does the word mad house mean anything to anyone? Does the term 'Maximum Occupancy' not apply to this establishment. We only stayed an hour and a half and left with one eye crossed and a slight case of Tourette's Syndrome in it's twitching form not obscene language form.
Our Saturday ended at my brother's house for my nephew's birthday party. It was crazy in that house with the large turn out but I enjoyed being able to visit with my sister in law for a while before the party and my brothers during the party. They always make me laugh.
Update on the vomit....Michael woke up at 2:30 a.m. throwing up like crazy. He was still sick when I left for work so I guess Michael got the mutated form which lasts longer. Oh, did I mention Marshall looks like he is getting Pink Eye??? Life is Good!!!!

Friday Finally!

1. Pickles in the sliced and fried form are my favorite!

2. Sometimes there is nothing like being at home. Other times I could just claw my way out.

3. The snow is gone except for the mulch beds on the north side of the house. Not to worry, we are expecting more Sunday night.

4. There are so many awesome things to witness in nature. Makes it hard to believe some people think it all got here by a Big Bang!

5. It's 5:16 p.m.; that means Marshall is dangerously close to getting tied up and put in a closet! :) Just kidding.

6. Discovering happiness and peace within yourself is hard to find.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I am looking forward to (and I say this loosely) going to Chuck E Cheese with the kids followed by swimming and a night at the Embassy, tomorrow my plans include eating a yummy breakfast followed by a late afternoon birthday party for my nephew and Sunday, I want to try to not do anything for the day..note to self: You are not allowed to pick up a paintbrush on Sunday!.

Another side note: It is only the trip to Chuck E Cheese that minimally excites me. I am looking forward to a night away from home and watching the kids swim.....oh.....and a trip to Target!!!

Breath In, Breath Out, Breath In, Breath Out, Breath In...

No I am not dead or in some sort of vegetative state. I have just had an incredibly crazy week that I do not hardly know how to put into words in order to have one even remotely appreciate it. Holy Crap.....the 'P' just popped off my laptop. Dang kids...why else would that letter all of the sudden disconnect itself from the keyboard....mutiny...apartheid???? I never knew how many times I used the key 'P' until it was no longer available for service!! Why is that?
Catch up (that freakin' P again)

  • Movie update: Inglorious Basterds....What can I say besides the spelling is all off. I do believe this is the first clue about the movie. I suppose that it would not be quite as moving if not based on past history (WW II for the slow ones). Brad Pitt surprised the hell out of me with his prose of sarcasm and proclamation of being Tennessee born and bred! Wow....just when I think no one can surprise me. Super duper violent but a really good movie. Once again, as much as I hate to say it....Brad made the movie! Scary I know. How many freakin p's could have possibly been in that last paragraph....it's ridiculous! How did that break off again?
  • The Tooth Fairy....Once again I am a sucker for sarcasm. I have read studies in regards to the geriatric population being able to recognize sarcasm. That is one of the cardinal signs of dementia....inability to recognize and comprehend said sarcasm. This movie is full of it (so I am safe for the time being because I picked up on it) and I appreciated every bit. Well, not to mention a little tidbit that Dwayne Johnson is hot hot hot!!! Is that wrong for me to say......don't care!

On a non movie note.....played Bunco tonight and lost miserably as usual. I am so glad I am not addicted to gambling because I would have lost everything a long time ago! I am having a lazy week and wish I could just lay in bed all day.....chillin'. Peace out......damn P......

It's Friday!!!!

It's a rainy Friday morning with another impending snowfall in the forecast. They say it wont be a big deal but I guess only time will tell. There is possibly another exciting thing developing but I don't want to say anything prematurely and jinx it. No, I am not pregnant just in case some of you were thinking that. For future reference, Mike and I are happy with the two we have.

1. I know it is not always about me but can we make it that way?

2. Although it is the shortest, February always feels like the longest month.

3. You can't help but laugh at life and the actors in it at times.

4. Girl's trip to Atlanta; bring it on!

5. Where have you looked for your shoes, socks, books, toy, etc.?

6. The weekend is now available.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to spending time with my mom, tomorrow my plans include hanging out with the family, and Sunday, I want to watch the Super Bowl and may the best team win!

Random Thoughts, Observations and Favorites

  • I am still extremely bitter the Vikings GAVE AWAY their last game of the season...pitiful at best.
  • I believe I will be one of those old people who watch Price is Right and court shows all day.
  • I will also be one of those old people that other people have a hard time getting away from because I won't shut my trap and regale them with stories from the good ole days.
  • Marshall took the biggest crap in the toilet yesterday for the first time ever. I do believe he was so cleaned out...he would have been colonoscopy ready!
  • I had a patient tell me today "Blue eyed people have a higher pain tolerance than brown eyed people". AND he actually had the audacity to look at me like I was crazy because I had never heard such a thing.
  • It is amazing the squalor people will allow themselves to live in....even better....raise their kids in.
  • My favorite lotion/bubble bath scent is 'coconut-lime verbena' and my favorite bath salt is Grassroots Body 'The Great Escape'
  • People who have no real purpose in being on the road during the day should have a certain time during said day which they are allowed out on the road. Let the people with a goal for the day have free reign of the pavement.
  • I should be allowed to shoot at people who don't use their signal or insist on riding in the fast lane going 20 under the speed limit (or least lightly hit their bumper)
  • It is amazing how many children who are on reduced lunches when their parents have cable TV, Blackberry phones, a nice car and perfectly manicured nails. Why are they on that program again?
  • I am so sick of lawyer commercials that encourage people to sue for an accident or the ones that promise to get you the 'benefits you deserve' from Social Security disability and they show pictures of people in their 20's. I am sure someone under 30 has really paid into the system and 'deserves' all the money they have put in the system during the past 8-10 years.
  • I have a hard time understanding people under 40 who don't have a chronic or auto immune disorder being on more than 3 prescription medicines.
  • I am a huge fan of flavored creamers in my coffee
  • I hate to hear young people who live at home, have no kids and may or may not be married talk about how busy they are with not one iota of spare time. How is that possible?
  • Why do people say their obesity is genetic as they are downing a Big Mac value meal
  • I watched the season premier of Lost last night and I am absolutely no more enlightened than I was before watching it.
  • Will someone please make an exercise, cardio, muscle toning protein powder
  • People should not be allowed to have bleached blond hair....we are not buying it!
  • The only wine glasses I will own for both red and white wine is 'Marquis' by Waterford
